An Update on my Latest Modeling Project - X10A Fenrir, Hitsugaya Custom

Hello, for my second post ill post up pics of my latest project. Since my favourite 2 animes are GundamSeedDestiny and Bleach, i decide to combine my favourite elements of both animes: Freedom Gundam from Seed and Captain Hitsugaya from Bleach.

The Freedom Gundam is originally a primarily blue and white gundam, and Hitsugaya's Shinikami uniform is white and black. So i simply decided to use a white/black colour scheme with small parts and details highlighted in silver and metallic light blue for a "bling bling" effect. In particular, do note that the winglets on the backpack are all originally in 1 colour, i had to do something called masking, which is simply to use masking tape to hide the parts that belong to 1 colour, then spray over the other colour so that the masked parts dont get the paint.

heres more pictures of the wings with stencils on them.

I had to cut out some spare plastic sheets to make the "10th" logo on the back part of the Freedom's skirt.

The feet which were originally blue were also painted copper-brown to give the impression that he is "wearing" something like a sandal that Hitsugaya wears.

The calf was also difficult to paint as i wanted a gradual colour effect and yet have the number 10 stenciled onto it.

here are some other parts that warrent some attention.

well, regarding blogs:

i suppose there are attention seekers or introverted dysfunctional people amongst those who blog, but a lot of bloggers do lead very healthy active offline lifestyles. note that not all bloggers want to be read by tons of people. for every high-profile blogger out there, there are many others who prefer just to be read by a close circle of friends, or perhaps not at all.

blogging to bridge distances, is more useful than you would think, because people inevitably drift apart after losing physical contact. what are the alternatives? instant messaging? e-mail? blogging is low-maintenance, low-commitment and readers get to read at their own pace and time. there may be a lack of real interaction, but i'd think reading someone's blog is better than losing contact totally. also, if you maintain a webpage to update people on your life, isn't that essentially a blog?

i think for most long-term bloggers, blogging serves as a way to chronicle their lives. since blogs are kept on the public domain, bloggers have to consider how far they are willing to write, in a constant process of personal rediscovery. by the very act of putting things into (typed) words people are forced to organise their thoughts more coherently, and discover things about themselves that they didn't realise previously. in many ways it's just like a diary. you may argue that a diary is private, but bloggers often do keep private entries too. so keeping a blog is like keeping a high-tech diary, with its associated convenience (and of course, the usual worries about security). but of course, it's often more than that because readers can interact with the blogger via tagboards or comments.

and of course, being your own blog, you can pretty much write anything you want (though MICA doesn't think so, heh). the ability to leave your mark, however small it may be on the internet where everyone can see it gives a lot of people an empowering feeling. blogs have been portrayed as an "alternative media", with bloggers being self-styled journalists, but this is another topic on it's own.

and please, don't blog for the sake of following the crowd! if you find that you don't like it, then don't do it!

haha sorry to leave such a long comment!

hm, i didn't see those decals (is that what u call them?) before! the soul society and tenth division one. were they there before?

-yuch-

Yuch! lol ... u shud know me more than any1 that i LOVE to bask in attention :DDD oh well perhaps its due to a sour grape mentality (that i cant make an interesting blog) that i had labelled all blogging as a waste of time :D

Ah the human psyche, wat an extremely simple thing!

Anyway the words are stencils, not decals, those type that lazy pple use to put on letter heads without using a computer, its available as some bookshops in small sheet where u rub the back of the sheet an the ink on front gets stenciled onto the other surface. Ingenius actually to apply it to modeling, a big thank you to my fren saviour for teaching me!
